John F. Macomber, Jr., 82, of Birdsboro passed away on June 28, 2022 in ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation – West Reading. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Esther (Browne) and John F. Macomber, Sr. Mr. Macomber was the loving husband of Sarah A. (Gains) Macomber and together they would have shared 56 years of marriage in August. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Mr. Macomber proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University and worked as a Tax Accountant for UGI/Amerigas. Mr. Macomber loved his family and was involved in his church activities with his wife, Sarah.
In addition to his wife, Sarah, Mr. Macomber is survived by his sons, Andrew J. Macomber, of McAllen, TX and Christopher M. Macomber, of Birdsboro. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Skylar, Leah, Addison, Riley, Andrea, and Evelyn, and his siblings, Allen Macomber, husband of Geraldine of Santa Fe, NM and Carol Macomber, of Leola. Mr. Macomber is preceded in death by his son, Ian S. Macomber who passed August 28, 2019.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 11:00 am in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1040 Chestnut Tree Road, Honey Brook, PA 19344. Reverend Kim Guiser to officiate. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1040 Chestnut Tree Rd., Honey Brook, PA 19344.
