John W. Hartman Jr.

John William Hartman Jr., 79, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at The Reading Hospital. John was the loving husband to Carol (Leibold) Hartman for over 54 years of marriage. Born in Reading, John was the son of the late John William Hartman Sr. and Fern J. (Potteiger). John was a graduate of Reading High School and went on to serve in The United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He later went on to work for over 30 years for the Reading School District. John will be remembered for being a loving father to his son, Errol.

In addition to his wife Carol, John is survived by his son, Errol Hartman, husband of Kristy (Jacoby), of Reading.

Funeral service for John will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, PA. Interment to follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, on Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
