John Harner

John W. “Jack” Harner, 66, of Exeter Township, passed away Sunday June 19, 2022 at 6:15 pm in Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital.  He was the husband of Elizabeth J. “Liz” (Byerly) Harner.  Born in Reading, Jack was the son of Doris S. (Britton) Harner of Mount Penn and the late William W. Harner.  He was a 1973 graduate of Central Catholic High School where he played football for 4 years.  Jack was a member of Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and was the owner of Harner’s Garage for 45 years.  In addition to his wife Liz and mother,  Jack is survived by his sons William D. “Billy” Harner of Flying Hills and Matthew J. Harner, husband of Carly Harner of Reading and his grandson Jonas.  He is also survived by his brother Ronald Harner, husband of Teresa Harner of Dallas, Texas and many nieces and nephews.  Jack also adored his dogs Charles, Pippa and Willy.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Mr. John W.
