John Gross

John J. Gross, 92, of Reading, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 10:02 pm at Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital.  He was the husband of Theresa J. Kraska-Gross.  Born in Shamokin, Mr. Gross was the son of the late John and Verna Gross.  He was a member of Saint Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church and served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II.  Mr. Gross was a metallurgist at Car Tech for 35 years until his retirement.  He enjoyed golf and fishing.  In addition to his wife, Mr. Gross is survived by his brother Anthony Gross of Pacifico, California and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Gross.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church 925 Centre Ave. Reading, Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 11:00 am.  Reverend Angel L. Garcia Almodovar, Celebrant.  Interment with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church Thursday 9:45 am to 10:45 am.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital 2500 Bernville Road, Reading, PA 19605 in memory of Mr. John J.
