John Fox

John F. Fox, 82, passed away on Tuesday August 10, 2021 at the Wyomissing Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Reading PA where he was a patient since April 2020. He lived in Sinking Spring prior to been admitted to the Rehab Center.

Born in Shillington, he was a son of the late Paul Z. Fox and Elsie P. (Reeser) Fox. He graduated from Governor Mifflin High School, class of 1959.

John’s first job was at the local Esso gas station where he met the love of his life.  Beverly A. (Riegel) Fox who passed away in 2017 with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage. They loved animals and rescued many cats over the years.  He had a fondness for St. Bernard dogs and he had at least one since 1968.

Mr. Fox was employed by Nabisco as a truck driver and warehouse worker until his retirement in 1996.  He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and spend a lot of his time outside keeping his yard and property neatly trimmed and in tip top shape.  He also enjoyed working on his cars, changing oil and doing small maintenance. When he was not outside working, he enjoyed watching WWE wrestling and games shows. Food was another one of John’s enjoyments especially PA Dutch style food and ice cream, he definitely had a sweet tooth.

He loved spending time with his wife and family. He enjoyed watching his granddaughter grow up and hearing about her experiences with her activities such as dance and school.

He is survived by his brother Lloyd I. Fox Sr. widowed of Joanne Fox, his sister Arlene E. Hemmig, widowed of Elwood B. Hemmig, his daughter Dawn B. Fox-Tylka, son-in-law James A. Tylka, his granddaughter Isabella A. Tylka. And was preceded in death by his brother Robert P. Fox, and sister in-law Isabell L. Fox.

Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Tuesday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
