John Brent Boles, 54, of Reading, went home to be with the Lord on December 20. He was betrothed (engaged) to Carmen M. Urdaz – the couple was looking forward to getting married this year. John passed away suddenly of an aneurysm. He was a donor to the “Gift of Life” program.
John was born and raised in Reading. He graduated from Reading High School and Shippensberg University.
During his youth, John had been a proud member of the Northwest Boy Scouts Troop, and was active in the Northwest Spartans sports programs. He had also been a member of the Northwest Olivet Boys Club.
John was a member of Bethel AME Church, Reading – the church where he was baptized and gave his life to the Lord at an early age.
John was a quality control specialist for Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials, Inc. for 25 years, last working in December.
John is survived by his mother, the Rev. Ernestine E. Boles and father, John E. Boles (both of Reading); and his fiancé Carmen M. Urdaz (also of Reading).
Other survivors include two brothers and a sister: Edward A. Boles, Brian K. Boles and Charlotte A. Boles (all of Reading). There is also a nephew Jordan L. (Tatiana) Piper (Harrisburg); a niece Alanna R.E. Piper (Harrisburg); and a nephew Jarren Q. Boles (Arlington, TX). Other family members who survive him include: a great niece, Raelynn R. Piper (Harrisburg); and cousins: Tyrone C. Harper (Dallas, TX) and Alicia Robey (Durham, NC).
Arrangements for John are as follows: A viewing will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring. The funeral will begin at 12 noon. The Interment will immediately follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Masks will be required to attend the services. Social distancing will be observed.
