Joan M. Kohl, 84, of Reading, passed away on July 21, 2016 at Penn State Health St. Joseph.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Hazel Sabold.
Joan was employed at Temple Apparel for several years. She was later employed as a Librarian for the Reading Public Library. She was involved with many organizations, most notably, the Democratic Committee of Berks County.
She was predeceased by her infant grandson: David Paul Steeley.
She is survived by her children: Adrianne S. Steeley of Reading; Scott M. Thomas, husband of Jane M. of Reading; Dale R. Thomas, husband of Tara A. of Shillington; and JoLynne L. Daughtry, wife of Chris H. of Reading. Grandchildren: Michael T. Steeley, April R. Manno, Emily A. Frank, Kelly Thomas, Spencer Fecho, Simmon Fecho, Jessica L. Daughtry, and Jennifer M. Daughtry. Great-grandchildren: Joseph and Hazel Manno.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th St., Reading, PA 19604.
