Joan S. Hafer

Joan S. Hafer, 88, of Reading, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at 5:56 am at Orwigsburg Center, Schuylkill County.  She was the wife of the late Earl E. Hafer who passed away July 2007.  Born in Reading, Mrs. Hafer was the daughter of the late Russell and Violet (Hoyer) Schrader.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Reading.  Mrs. Hafer was employed by Prudential Insurance Company in Reading as a secretary; worked in the cafeteria at Albright College; was a vender at the Reading Market; was employed by Reading Post Office Credit Union as a secretary; worked as an aide at Children’s Day Care Center in Reading and finally as a food presenter at Sam’s Club.  She is survived by her daughter Tracy L. Arnold wife of Russell C. Arnold of Tamaqua and her grandchildren Tyler M. Arnold, Hailey L. Arnold, Trevor R. Arnold.
