Jo Anne Thompson

Jo Anne Thompson (Greth), 70, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Thursday August 1, 2024, at The Reading Hospital, after a courageous fight against cancer. Affectionately called Mom, Nanny, or Mama T, Jo Anne was the loving wife to Scott W. Thompson for over 51 years of marriage. Born in Reading, Jo Anne was the daughter of the late David Greth, and Irene (Garman). She was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1971. Jo Anne prided herself as a receptionist, dedicating most of her career to women’s health. In addition to her husband Scott, Jo Anne is survived by her children, Tanya Stricker, wife of Charles D. Stricker Jr., of Muhlenberg Township, and Tyler Thompson, husband of Maria (Italia) Thompson, of Reading. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Charley, Peyton, Trey, Leo, and Gia.

Jo Anne enjoyed crocheting and traveling with friends and family. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her five amazing grandchildren. From sleepovers with movies and baking cupcakes, to cheering them on during countless swim meets, water polo, baseball, and lacrosse games. Being “Nanny” was what she loved most. She will be dearly missed and remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, “nanny”, and friend.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
