Jean Yaklich

July 7, 1929 — January 24, 2019

Jean W. Yaklich, 89, of West Lawn, passed away on January 24, 2019 at The Reading Hospital.

She was the wife of Dr. Anthony R. Yaklich, whom she was married to for 58 years.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Esther E. (Loose) Yaklich.

Jean was a graduate of East Stroudsburg University. She went on to be employed as a Physical Education teacher, Health teacher, and track coach for the Reading School District, working at the Northwest Jr. High School and the Reading Senior High School. Jean was a member of St. Peter's U.C.C. of West Lawn. Family was everything to Jean and enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed playing tennis and volleyball with her husband and watching her grandchildren's sporting events.

She was predeceased by her sister: Barbara Walbert.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Melissa Y. Dunham, wife of Steve R. of Annapolis, MD and Elizabeth A. Comport, wife of James C. of Gilbertsville. Also surviving are grandchildren: Brianna E. and Tyler J. Comport.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 2901 Curtis Road, West Lawn, on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 11:00AM.The family will receive friends and relatives at church from 10-11:00AM. The Interment will follow the funeral service at Laureldale Cemetery.
