Jean T. Snook, 85, of Wernersville, passed away on May 19, 2017 at Berkshire Center.
Born in Laureldale, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Hurst) Tobias.
Jean was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School. She went on to be employed as an accounting clerk for the United Way of Berks County and Gilbert and Associates. She last worked in the accounting Dept. for CNA Insurance, retiring in 1990.
In years past, Jean volunteered her time as a Camp Fire leader and assistant Girl Scout leader. She was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Bible School Superintendent of the Nursery Dept. She was a dedicated and loving mother, who did most everything with her beloved late husband Elwood B. Snook. Jean and Elwood were married for 50 years. She was a cancer survivor.
She was predeceased by her brother: Terry Tobias.
Survivors include her children: Dr. David L. Snook, husband of Dr. Raluca Iuster of Shrewsbury, MA and Pamela J. McArtor, wife of Steven of Douglassville. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Olivia McArtor and Rachel and Daniel Snook.
Funeral Services will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10-11:00AM. The interment will follow the service at Pleasant View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
