Jean Deppen

Jean L. Deppen, 84, of Womelsdorf, passed away on September 27, 2017 in the care of her daughter.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late George T. and Mary M. (Waldman) Rider.
Jean was employed as a sewing machine operator for Talbot Knitting Mills and later as a Wire Assembler for Bernville Manufacturing. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and especially liked to attend their sporting events. Jean also enjoyed attending yard sales and making crafts.
She is survived by her children: Gail D. Pettit, wife of Samuel Pettit, Jr. of West Lawn and Steven D. Deppen, husband of Margaret of Little Valley, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Eric and Ryan Pettit, Jamie and Joshua Deppen; and great-grandchildren: Jayvian, Logan, Nataliyah, Jaxson, and Cameron Pettit.
Funeral services will be held a Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10-11:00AM. The interment will follow the service at Gethsemane Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
