Janice E. (DeLong) Langan, 90, of Myerstown, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in her residence at the Towne Centre StoneRidge Retirement Living Community. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Cora (Swavely) and Leon DeLong. She graduated from Reading High School in 1952. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Janice worked as a telephone operator for Polymer/Quadrant for over 40 years and previously worked at Bell Telephone. She worked full-time until she was 80 years old. She played the role of Mrs. Claus for 30 years at Polymer/Quadrant for their annual Kids’ Christmas Party. Janice loved to cook and bake; she was known for her delicious shoofly pies. She enjoyed traveling all over Europe and taking cruises with her mother. Janice was a wonderful mother and “Gaga”, she cherished every moment spent with her family.
Janice is survived by her children, Kelly A. Heckman, wife of Todd of Wernersville, Loralee Acker-Attwood, wife of James of Virginia Beach, VA, Keith Langan, of Wernersville, and her grandson, Alec A. Heckman, of Wernersville. Janice is predeceased by her sisters, Leona Gensemer and Edith Cooper.
