Janice Elizabeth Cook, 71, formerly of Exeter Township, passed away quite peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at her residence in Columbia Cottage, Collegeville, PA with her family at her bedside. Born in Philadelphia, Janice was the daughter of the late Harvey W. Simon and Verna L. (Frank) Simon Meinhardt. She was also preceded in death by her step-father Ronald J. Meinhardt. Janice received her bachelor's degree in secondary education at Houghton College in Houghton, NY and subsequently taught Spanish in the Neshaminy School District and later at Berks Christian School. She retired in 2013 from the Daniel Boone School District as both an English and Spanish Teacher. A member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Janice was a woman of faith who walked with God every step of the way and not a day went by without her beginning with the Word of God, reading her Bible. She always placed her family first and as a teacher was dedicated to the young minds she taught. Janice is survived by her sons Daniel A. Cook of Reading and Bradley T. Cook and his wife Virginia of Sinking Spring along with 3 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Roland T. Meinhardt, and his wife Eileen of Harleysville.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Chelten Hills Cemetery, Philadelphia. The family request that flowers not be sent, however, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 3893 Adler Place Suite 170, Bethlehem, PA 18017 in memory of Ms. Janice Elizabeth Cook.
