Janet Shook

Janet M. Shook, 85, of Amity Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 11:20 pm in Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lee E. "Shookie" Shook who passed away October 25, 2014. Born in Birdsboro, Mrs. Shook was the daughter of the late Melvin and Kathryn (Mace) Amole. She attended Birdsboro High School and was a seamstress at Duvid Corporation in Birdsboro. Mrs. Shook is survived by her children Sharon M. Fox, wife of Charles H. Fox of Douglassville and Scott Zerr, husband of Susan L. Zerr of Perryville, Maryland along with 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Billie Lynn (Zerr) Garlington, September 6, 2014. Mrs. Shook is also survived by her brother Gary L. Amole of Wernersville. She also leaves behind her beloved 4 legged companions Sparky and Olivia. The family of Mrs. Shook would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Nursing Staff at Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital Progressive Care North Unit for the care they extended to their mother.
Memorial Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Birdsboro Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, September 16, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Humane Society of Berks County 1801 North 11 th Street, Reading, PA 19604 in memory of Mrs. Janet M. Shook.
