Janet Keener

Janet "Jennie" M. Keener, 79, formerly of Shillington and resident of the Mifflin Center since 2015 passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Reading Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Milton C. Keener who passed away on January 12, 1991. Born in Adamstown, she was the daughter of the late Harold Hassler and Alice L. (Weller) Hassler. During her life she was employed as a box maker for Bollman Hat Company in Adamstown for more than 44 years. She was also a proud member of the Church of God in Reamstown. Janet was predeceased by her son Dale L. Keener who passed away on July 22, 2016. She is survived by her son, Gary L. Keener of Shillington; daughter in law, Ellen L. Keener ;sisters, Delores F., wife of Paul Gantert, of Denver; and Caroline A., wife of Richard Cox, of Sinking Spring.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 129 E. Lancaster Ave. Shillington, 19607 on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
