Janet L. Fick, 86, of Alsace Township, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 7:38 pm at the residence of her niece, Justine L. Stump of Alsace Township. She was the wife of the late Edward H. Fick, Jr. who passed away January 28, 2016. Born in Reading, Mrs. Fick was the daughter of the late Luther M. and Susan (Brown) Sweitzer. She was a seamstress at David Crystal in Reading for many years until her retirement in 1998. Mrs. Fick is survived by her brother Jacob R. Sweitzer of Reading and her sisters Ruth E. Degler of Topton and Yvonne M. Kapelski, wife of Eugene Kapelski of Muhlenberg Township and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her children Kenneth Fick, Edward H. Fick, III and Christine L. Robinson, who passed away December 24, 2022. Mrs. Fick was also preceded in death by her siblings Leon J. Sweitzer, John L. Sweitzer, Donald R. Sweitzer, Barry M. Sweitzer, Laura M. Wanner, Carolyn J. Pfleger and Margie Angstadt.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 1605 Rockland Street, Hampden Heights, Monday, March 6, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Reverend Merrill R. Marisseau will officiate. Interment will follow at Spies-Zion Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Monday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
