James Washington

James E. Washington, 78, of Spring Township, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 11:12 am in his home. He was the wife of Susan M. (Moyer) Washington. Born in Harrisonburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Dilmon D. and Thelma F. (Franklin) Washington. He attended McCann School of Business and received a certificate in computer languages. Mr. Washington served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and held a longtime service position at GPU as a computer analyst until his retirement. In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by his son James E. Washington, II, husband of Pamela G. Washington of Reading and his daughter Alicia A. Lee of Reading. Mr. Washington is also survived by his step daughter Kristen T. Weber, wife of William H. Weber of Marietta, Georgia and his step sons William L. Thompson and Stephan B. Thompson, both of Reading, along with 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 3:00 pm. Kathy L. Lentz, Certified Celebrant will officiate. Interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday 2-3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave. Reading, PA 19605 in memory of Mr. James E. Washington.
