James M. Troutman, 87, of Wyomissing, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was the beloved husband of Marguerite Troutman for 42 years.
Born in West Lawn, he was the son of the late Warren and Helen Troutman.
He was a 1947 graduate of Wilson High School and attended Albright University and Kutztown University. James was a Korean War Veteran, retiring from The Marine Corps as Chief Warrant Officer, after 24 years. He served in Korea and Japan.
He was employed by Bell Telephone in the security and claims dept. (Philadelphia) for 32 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #549, The Berks County Tennis Club, and Marine Corps League.
James was predeceased by two sons: James W. Troutman and Jeffrey Troutman.
James leaves behind two step-children: Heinrich P. Schlarb, husband of Crystal of Lebanon and Martina S. Dahl, wife of Alan of Wyomissing. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren: Alex M. and Erika S. Dahl and Jonathan P. Schlarb, sister: Aleta Blachly, a niece and 2 nephews.
Funeral and Military Services will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 9:30AM, Rev. Timothy W. Sadler officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 8-9:15AM. Masonic Service will be conducted at 9:15AM. The interment will follow the services at Pleasant View Cemetery.
