James R. Orth, Sr., 67, of Spring Twp., passed away May 29, 2010 at 5:25 AM surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease in Reading Hospital & Medical Center where he was a patient since May 24th. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Wisner) Orth who he married September 16, 1961. Born in West Reading on July 26, 1942, he was the son of Robert H. and Jean K. (Kranch) Orth of Sinking Spring.
Mr. Orth was a 1960 graduate of Wilson High School. He was employed 37 years as an electrician by the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local # 743, retiring in 2003. James was an avid woodworker and loved salt water fishing in Delaware.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a son James R. Orth, Jr. husband of Debra A. (Schuchart) Orth of Reinholds, a daughter Lori A. (Orth) wife of Robert C. Jamison of Sinking Spring, 5 grandchildren Haley wife of John Stricker, Donnalee Orth, Jimmy Orth, Lauren Yeager and Ian Jamison, 2 great grandchildren Brandon Stricker and Madelynn Stricker, 2 sisters Michalene (Orth) Ulrich of Sinking Spring and Bonnie (Orth) Steffey of Reinholds and a brother David Orth of Sinking Spring.
