James Orrs

James H. Orrs, 90 of Shillington, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the Reading Hospital. He was the loving wife to Kathryn A. (Yohe) for over 29 years, before her passing on March 14, 2016. Born in Birdsboro, James was the son of the late James W. Orrs, and Susan C. (Lutz). James was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War, and went on to become a truck driver for Preston Trucking Co. for over 18 years before his retirement in 1994.

Surviving James is his daughters, Kathleen Moore, wife of David, of Leesport, and Judith “Judy” Burritt, wife of William of Reading. He is also survived by his sister, Josephine Zawislak, and his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Kathryn, James is predeceased by his son, James W. Orrs, his daughter, Rosemary Scagnelli, and his siblings, David, Susan, Lillian, Irma, and Charles.

Funeral service for James will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave. Shillington. Amy Landis, Certified Celebrant to officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive guests in Bean Funeral Home, Shillington on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
