James Leitham

James A. Leitham, 71, of Exeter Township, passed away Friday afternoon, July 20, 2018, at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was the husband of Christine E. (Henne) Leitham to whom he was married for 46 years. Born in Reading, Mr. Leitham was the son of the late John H. and Aldona (Goletz) Leitham. He was a 1965 graduate of Central Catholic High School and attended Temple University. He was employed by Reading Railroad/Conrail as a crane operator for 35 years, retiring in 2001.
Mr. Leitham was a loving father to Stephen J. Leitham of Reading and Michael J. Leitham of Elizabethtown, husband of Sarah E. Leitham, and a loving grandfather to Tyrion and Arya.
He is also survived by his brother John V. Leitham of Philadelphia, husband of Sheila Leitham, his nephew Richard Leitham, husband of Kaia Leitham, and several cousins.
James was an Eagles fan who enjoyed listening to his ecclectic collection of music, caring for his tropical fish, and most especially walking his Newfoundland dogs with his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to an organziation dedictated to freeing dogs from puppy mills: A Tail to Tell, Inc., c/o Michelle Phelps, 226 Reigle Road, Marysville, PA 17053.
Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of the family in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com. Friends are invited to celebrate Jim's life at a service on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 6:30 pm at The Inn at Centre Park 730 Centre Ave. Reading, PA 19601
