James Gordon

August 15, 1939 — April 5, 2016

James R. Gordon, 76, of Amity Twp., passed away on April 5, 2016 at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John W. and Bertha M. (Heffleger) Gordon.
He was the husband of the late Joyce E. (Clouser) Gordon, whom he met while working at the Fairgrounds Market.
Mr. Gordon was employed as a mechanical designer for WorleyParsons, formerly Gilbert Associates Inc. He was also an independent licensed auctioneer. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending yard sales, auctions, and flea markets. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, gardening, boating, and spending time with his cats.
He was predeceased by his brothers: Walter, Harold, Samuel, and George Gordon and sister: Mary Madeline Shirey.
He is survived by his daughters: Wanda J. Hill, wife of Rodney J. Hill of Reading, Beverly L. Lightcap, wife of Charles D. Lightcap, III. of Denver, Karen R. Russell, wife of Gary W. Russell of Stevens, and Teresa B. Boyer, wife of Gary L. Boyer of Denver. Grandchildren: Mark Roberts, husband of Giselle, Justin Hanson, husband of Victoria, Christopher Lightcap, Lindsay Lightcap, Jonathan Lightcap, Brittany Russell, Gavin Russell, Karina Russell, Gordon Russell, Kolton Boyer, and Kayla Boyer. He is also survived by nephews: Larry Gordon and Jim Gordon, and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington, on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 4-6:00PM and on Monday from 10:30-11:00AM. The interment will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
