James Karl Hilgendorf, 74, of Blandon, passed away on December 6, 2017 at Berkshire Center.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late James E. and Evelyn S. (Lawrence) Hilgendorf.
Karl was a 1961 Graduate of Reading High School. He went on to attend the Wharton School of Business. He was employed in Real Estate Lending for Penn Savings Bank, later Sovereign Bank, as a Mortgage Officer in the appraisal and construction department, for 17 years. He later went on to work in Real Estate Finance for Hamilton Bank, later Corestates, until 1991.
Mr. Hilgendorf was a US Air Force Veteran, proudly serving his country for 4 years. Karl was a 50 year member of Issaac Hiester Lodge N0.660 F. &A.M.
He was predeceased by his sister: Linda E. Frey.
Survivors include his wife: Susan J. (Feick) Hilgendorf, step-son: John M. Guarino, husband of Andrea, and grandchildren: Ava, Rocco, and Nicolo. Also surviving is a brother: Larry E. Hilgendorf of Iowa and Ann E. Myers, wife of Craig of Wernersville.
Memorial Services will be held a Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 2:00PM. A Masonic Service will be conducted by Issaac Hiester Lodge N0.660 F. &A.M. at 1:45PM.
