Irene Duggan

Irene M. Duggan, 88, of Mount Penn, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Berkshire Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Duggan Sr. who passed away on October 8, 1999. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late George and Julia (Michalak) Lawrence. During her life she was employed as the supervisor of the cafeteria for the Reading School District in Reading, for 21 years retiring in 1991. Irene is survived by her children, Eileen M. Blekicki, of Pennside; Linda A. Lott, of Pennside; Cynthia L. Duggan, of Fleetwood; Sharon M. Schaeffer, of Fleetwood; and Patrick J. Duggan, of Lower Alsace Township. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Irene was predeceased by her sons, Joseph L. Duggan, Jr.; David G. Duggan; and sisters, Dorothy Linderman, and Jean Dziedzic.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Chapel of St. George in Gethsemane Cemetery 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, 19605 on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 10:00am. Entombment will follow. Online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
