Howard Reed

Howard L. "Bud" Reed, 85, of Bern Twp., passed away April 29, 2011 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dorothy L. (Walborn) Reed for 60 years. Born in Reading on July 18, 1925, he was the son of the late Carl E. and Alma (Moyer) Reed.

Howard was a 1943 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a 1949 graduate of Rider College in New Jersey. He served in the US Army Air Corp. during World War 2.

Mr. Reed was employed at Reading Coca-Cola Bottling at 5th & Bern Streets in Reading for 35 years, last working as office manager at his retirement in 1985.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son Neal S. Reed husband of Linette M. Reed of Sinking Spring, a daughter Linda S. Reed wife of Edward C. Glausman of Reading, 4 grandchildren Tara L. Reed, Morgan R. Reed, Alicia R. Lynch and Stephanie R. Capellupo. He was predeceased by a brother Eugene Reed and a sister Betty J. (Reed) Selig.
