Herbert Hollenbach

September 25, 1928 — February 9, 2018

Herbert H Hollenbach, 89, died, Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Reading Hospital from complications with Alzheimer's Dementia.

Mr. Hollenbach was born in N. Heidelberg Township, Berks County and was the son of the late Joshua F. and Mazie M. (Mengel) Hollenbach.

Herbert proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War before returning to the Reading area. He was a small business owner of a residential painting company before retiring after over 40 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Gouglersville Fire Company and was the Fire Chief in the late 1970's. He was also a life member of the Cover Park Athletic Assn. in Shillington, Pa.

He is the husband of Dolores M. (Neider), to whom he would have been married for 65 years on March 14, 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores M (Neider) Hollenbach; three sons, Dwight D. Hollenbach and his wife Linda of Mount Wolf, Glenn A. Hollenbach of Robesonia, and Brian S. Hollenbach of Coatesville; two daughters, Joyce E. Moll and her husband Randy of Temple, and Dawn M. Lutz and husband Dave of Mechanicsburg; sister, Helen (Hollenbach) Mengel of Leesport; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. Herbert was preceded in death by his sister, Erma (Hollenbach) Homrich.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes, 129 East Lancaster Ave., Shillington, on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 12:00PM. The family will receive friends and relative from 11-12:00PM.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America be made in honor of Herbert.
