Henry Taylor

Henry Taylor, 90, formerly of Creek Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA, died peacefully at the Highlands of Wyomissing on September 22, 2009. He was the husband of the late Edna(Landsiedel) Taylor. Mr. Taylor was born in Philadelphia, to the late James and Elizabeth(Reid)Taylor. He was a resident of Huntingdon Valley for 45 years. He retired as Director of Insurance and Assistant Secretary for Rohm and Haas and was also President of Rohm and Haas Bemuda Corporation. He traveled worlwide in his 47 years of service to the chemical company. A World War II veteran, Mr. Taylor was a flight officer for the 10th and 14th Divisions of the Army Air Force in Asia and flew the Burman Hump in India. He attended Cheltenham High School, and after his military service earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed an accounts and finance degree from the evening school at Wharton. Mr. Taylor was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church, Huntingdon Valley and later Abington Baptist Church. He and Mrs. Taylor joined the Lincoln Park United Methodist Church when they moved to Wyomissing. He played golf as a member of Manufacturers Golf and Country Club. He also enjoyed tennis, working outdoors on his property and walking the trails of the Pennypack Watershed. Mr. Taylor is survived by his son, Richard D. Taylor, daughter in law Cindy H. Taylor, and their sons Douglas R.and Glen D.Taylor. Doug and his wife, Maggie(Bradley)Taylor have two daughters, Grace and Kathryn. All reside in Bucks County, PA. Mr. Taylor is also survived by his daughter June T. Maier, wife of Andrew Maier II. Their daughter, Laura C. Maier resides in Bryn Mawr, PA and their son Andrew Maier III attends Lehigh University.
