Helen Southworth

Helen L. Southworth, 90, formerly of West Lawn, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 3:20 am in Manor Care Health Services, Spring Township. She was the wife of the late Forrest C. Southworth who passed away December 27, 1993. Born in Sellersville, Bucks County, Mrs. Southworth was the daughter of the late Edward D. and Ernestine (Wachter) Harkness. She was a graduate of Wyomissing High School and retired from Narrow Fabric in West Reading in 1995 as a machine operator. Mrs. Southworth was a member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church , was a great cook and loved taking care of her family. She is survived by her daughter Margaret L. Radkowski of Shillington and was preceded in death by her sons William El Southworth, April 18, 2000 and Jerry T. Southworth, January 31, 2010. Mrs. Southworth is also survived by her grandchildren F. Joseph "Joe" Radkowski, husband of Kate Radkowski and Anastasia "Stacie" Leiphart, wife of Brad Leiphart and her great grandchildren Reese, Raegan and Rhett Leiphart and preceded in death by her granddaughter Kristin Southworth. Also surviving are her siblings Thomas Harkness, husband of Ann Harkness of Lincoln Park; Alice Southworth, widow of Nelson Southworth of Newmanstown; Ernestine Remp, widow of Carl Remp of Delaware and Fay Sweigart, widow of Irvin Sweigart of Ephrata and was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring Friday, May 19, 2017 at 3:30 pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Friday 2:30-3:30 pm.
