Helen L. Reagan, 91, of Wyomissing, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at Berks Heim. Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of C. Ellis Meleizen and Anna E. (Meara) Meleizen. She is survived by her favorite daughters, Judith L. Kuhn, wife of Dennis, of Colorado; Margaret L. Mellinger, wife of Byron, of Wyomissing; grandchildren, Zachary Mellinger, Amanda Mellinger, Sean Kuhn, Aaron Kuhn, and Julie Beauprez, wife of James. Helen was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth Verdone and Dorothy Rothermel.
Helen took her role of the middle child very seriously, usually dragging her younger sister/partner in crime, Dottie, along for the ride, then blaming their older sister, Betty, for any unpleasant consequences. She outlived all of her husbands and most of her boyfriends. She was a strong, courageous, independent woman, never holding back her opinion or sugarcoating the truth. She also felt very strongly that Starbucks should add V.O. and water to their menu.
Helen had resided at Berks Heim, where she enjoyed tormenting the staff daily, which they had grown fond of, or so she thought. Although she was 91 and in failing health, her family believes that she wanted to leave this earth before Berks Heim was sold to a private company. Helen will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched.
Interment will be private. Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made to www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
