Helen Mademann

Helen E. Mademann, 88, of Cumru Twp., passed away February 21, 2011 in St. Joseph Medical Center. She was a resident at Phoebe Berks Health Center since December 15, 2010. She was the wife of Charles A. Mademann who passed away July 15, 1995. Born in Reading on March 16, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Martha A. (Porr) Grater.

Mrs. Mademann was a 1939 graduate of Reading High School. She was employed as a sales clerk at C.K. Whitner Department Store in Reading for 23 years retiring in 1963. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shillington.

She is survived by a brother in law Paul Mademann in Nashville, TN and a sister in law Barbara B. Grater in Lititz and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Thomas P. Grater and a sister Doris Slater.
