Helen Johnson

Helen A. Johnson, 94, of Sinking Spring, PA went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 6, 2017.
Born October 5, 1922 in St. Paul, MN, she was the daughter of the late Axel and Alma Almquist, and was married to the late Everett C. Johnson of Reading, PA.
She is survived by her children and their spouses - Sharon and Paul Gartner of Canyon Country, California, Carla and Robert Becker, Constance and Eric Hetman, and David E. Johnson, all of Reading, PA. Helen was the joyful grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. As a homemaker Helen enjoyed traveling, sewing, arts and crafts, reading, and caring for her grandchildren. Helen was an active member in Christian Women's Club, taught Good News Clubs, and held Bible studies in her home. She was as a loving, compassionate, and generous person to many.

Funeral Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 510 Park Ave, Reading, PA 19611, on Thursday April 13th at11:30am. Family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00-11:30 AM. Reverend Russell E. Weidel will officiate. Interment will follow at the Sinking Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship.
