Harry B. Vogel, 93, formerly of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away December 28, 2008 at 7:20 AM in Laurel Center where he was a resident for 3 years. He was the husband of Minnie D. (Campbell) Vogel who passed away November 15, 1994. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harry F. and D. Edith (Boyd) Vogel.
He was an Army veteran of WW2.
Mr. Vogel was employed for 15 years as a crane operator by Reading Railroad and for 20 years by the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier until his retirement in 1978.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Nancy L. (Vogel) Nieder of Chicago, Edith M. (Vogel) widow of Hayden E. Hoover of Shoemakersville and Miriam K. (Vogel) Thorne of Reading, a son Harry B. "Butch" husband of Nancy Vogel , 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.He was predeceased by a brother John A. Vogel.
Mr. Vogel was an avid fisherman and woodworker who loved to read and solve crossword puzzles.
