Harry Kostomiris

November 25, 1950 — December 8, 2017

Harry J. Kostomiris, 67, of West Lawn, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at 6:54 pm in his home. Born in Mytilene, Lesvos, Greece, he was the son of the late James H. and Cleo (Spyrellis) Kostomeris. Harry was a 1968 graduate of Reading High School and attended Drexel University. He was a member of Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church where he served as an altar server growing up. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). Harry was a life member of 11th Armored Cavalry's Veterans of Vietnam and Cambodia and a member of Steeler's Fellowship Club, Inc. He was employed by Rockwell International and later by Carpenter Technology retiring as a machinist after over 32 years of service. He is survived by his sons Nicholas A. Kostomiris, husband of Tina Schulze-Kostomiris of Berlin, Germany; Demetrios H. Kostomiris of College Station, Texas and Michael G. Kostomiris of Morris Plains, New Jersey. He is also survived by his sister, Metaxia M. Kostomeris of Reading. Harry is also survived by his cousins Anna Koumaras of Reading; Stella Miller of Reading; and Helen Smith of Phoenix, Arizona as well as several cousins in Greece.
Harry's hobbies included working on cars and the latest technology. HIs proudest accomplishment was his three sons.
Funeral Service will be held in Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church 1001 East Wyomissing Blvd. Reading, PA 19611, Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 11:00 am. Reverend Thomas L. Pappalas will officiate. Interment will follow in Charles Evans Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church Thursday 9:30-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church at the above address or American Heart Association 968 Postal Road Suite 110 Allentown, PA 18109 in memory of Mr. Harry J.
