Harriet Madara

Harriet T. Madara, 86, formerly of Cumru Township, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 4:00 pm in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Raymond P. Madara, Sr. who passed away March 17, 2014. Born in Reading, Mrs. Madara was the daughter of the late Franciszek and Zofia(Bonarek) Klinikowski. She was a member of Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington and was a 1947 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School. She was employed by Western Electric/Lucent as a secretary. Mrs. Madara is survived by her daughter Marie E. Hartranft, wife of William H. Hartranft of Lower Alsace Township along with her grandchildren Lori Shuart and William R. Hartranft and her great grandchildren Raymond, Ryan and Zofia. She was preceded in death by her sisters Monika A. Stoltz and Elizabeth Gawrys.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Kerrick and Mitti Roads, Shillington, Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church from 9-9:45 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Carmelite Nuns of Allentwon, 3551 Lanark Road, Coopersburg, PA 18036 or
