Harold F. Stefl, 89, of Lancaster, passed away on May 7, 2016 at Arbor View of Willow Valley.
Born in Dunbar, PA, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Margaret A. (Stemmler) Stefl.
Harold was a US Navy veteran, proudly serving his country during WWII. He went on to attend Bucknell University and later Temple University, where he received a master's degree. He was employed as a Math Teacher, and later, Director of Guidance for Muhlenberg High School, until his retirement in 1983. During his tenure at Muhlenberg High School, he served as the High School Football Coach. He also was the former football coach in Minersville, PA. Harold was the past President of the Educators Investment Services.
He was predeceased by his first wife: Lois E. (May) Stefl, and brothers: Charles A. Stefl, Donald J. Stefl, and Robert W. Stefl.
He is survived by his wife: Helen T. (McAuley) Stefl of Lancaster; Children: John D. Stefl, husband of Patti, of Springfield, Judith L. Stefl of Mohrsville, and Jody Stefl of Mohrsville; Step-children: M. Margo Eisenhard of Douglassville, C. Morgan Roberts of Hatfield, Marla D. Riegel of Douglassville, H. Mason Monteiro of Reading, J. Alexander MacLeod of Canada, and Angus D. MacLeod of West Lawn; 2 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 1:00PM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 12-1:00PM.
