Guy Lorah, Jr

Guy M. Lorah, Jr. 74, of Wyomissing, passed away March 21, 2011 at the Topton Lutheran Home where he was a resident since December 2010.

Born in Reading on February 13, 1937, he was the son of the late Guy M. Sr. and

Verna (Rathje) Lorah. He was the husband of Gerogine M. (Henry) Lorah whom he married May 20, 1994.

He graduated from Oley High School in 1954, where he played soccer, baseball and basketball. Guy was also a member of the band and orchestra and was vice president of the Boys Leaders Club in his senior year.

Guy was employed at Exide Corporation for 40 years, retiring in 1999.

He was a member of Lower Alsace Fire Company and was past President and Treasurer of Lucky 15 Camp, Inc. When he was younger he played baseball for Kutztown Legion and played soccer for the Reading Amerks. Guy also played softball for approximately 40 years with various local teams in addition to coaching men's softball.

His many hobbies included reading, Steven Segal Movies and tending to his vegetable garden. Guy also loved his Philadelphia Eagles.

Surviving in addition to his wife Georgine, are four children, daughter Tiffany (Lorah) Bachert, wife of Jerry Bachert of Reading, and three sons, Michael Lorah of Adamstown, William Lorah of Birdsboro, and Roy Lorah of Maysville, KY and 2 step-children, John D. Borelli, husband of Lori (Miller) Borelli of Reading and Jeffrey S. Borelli, husband of Cyndi (Hauck) Borelli of Reading. There are five grandchildren, Austin Lorah, David Lorah, Justin Lorah, Dalton Bachert and Jeffrey A. Lorah, Jr. and five step-grandchildren: Amanda Leigh Borelli, John David Borelli, Sophia Rose Borelli, Jozef Wilczynski and Kelsey Wilczynski along with two great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include a brother, Kenneth, husband of Dolores (Alloway) Lorah of Reading. He was predeceased by a son, Jeffery A. Lorah.
