Gretchen D. Bybel

Gretchen D. Bybel, 91, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 in her residence. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Bybel, Sr. MD, who passed away December 11, 2021. Born in Reading, Mrs. Bybel was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Ethel (Ibach) Dunkelberger. She was of the Lutheran Faith and graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Bybel was a Registered Nurse at the medical practice of her husband, Nicholas Bybel, Sr. MD for 40 years until her retirement. She is survived by her children Nicholas Bybel, Jr. husband of Dr. Ann Marie Bybel of Lancaster; Robert Bybel husband of Aksana V. Bybel of Leesburg, Virginia; Gretchen Bybel with whom she last resided and her 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mrs. Bybel was preceded in death by her sister Mary Cafoncelli.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 1:30 pm. Amy S. Landis, Celebrant will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Shillington. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
