Gloria Montag

On Friday, January 18, 2019, we lost our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Gloria L. Montag. She lived 84 wonderful years on her own through many health problems. She joins her beloved husband of 53 years, John E. Montag. She also will be joining baby Diane, who died 5 days after birth, her brother Donald Anderson, and sister June Lloyd. She leaves behind daughter Eileen Stevenson, husband Dave, children Kimberly and Christine; son Jeffrey Montag, wife Judy, children Summer, Amanda, Rachel, and Josh; her son Tim, wife Karen, children Matt, Kristen, and Brett; and son Philip, wife Marisa, children Katharine, Natalie, and Andrew, along with 12 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Sandy Artz and her husband Jerry.
Gloria was proud of her family. She took her children and their families to Disneyworld. Besides taking care of her home and family, she worked 32 years at H & R Block, enjoying friends she made and the work she did. She was also very involved with her church family at Calvary Baptist Church.
Some of her favorite things were eating chocolate, chatting with family and friends, and going to her 1951 Reading High Class luncheons. Gloria leaves all of us many fond memories.
Funeral Services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 501 Park Ave., Reading, on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 9:30AM. The family will receive friends and relatives at Bean Funeral Home, N.16th & Rockland Sts., Hampden Heights, on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 6-8:00PM. Burial will follow the funeral service at Pleasant View Cemetery.
