Gloria M. Brendle, 80, of Sinking Spring, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Reading Hospital. Born on May 16, 1944, in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leon N. and Dorothy E. (Hatt) Brendle. Gloria was a graduate of Wilson High School, Class of 1962. During her life, she worked for Berks Eye Physician’s & Surgeons initially as a Ophthalmic Assistant and later entered the business side, as the Business Manager of the practice for 30+ years until retiring.
Gloria enjoyed playing bingo, cards and was an avid bowler. She was the president of RWBA “Reading Women’s Bowling Association” and is in their hall of fame. Gloria loved traveling, especially going on cruises with her friends. She was also an avid Phillies fan, both Philadelphia and the Reading Phillies where she had season’s tickets. You could always find her at Box 107, Row 1 at the Reading Phillies games.
Gloria is survived by her sister, Patricia A. Hause wife of David C. Hause, of West Lawn; niece, Kristen L. Busher, wife of Alaric Busher, of Palmyra; nephew, Kyle D. Hause, husband of Ann Haag, of Newmanstown; 2 great nieces, Claire Busher and Audrey Busher; and her two beloved friends, Maryann Jagielski, of Sinking Spring; and Linda Hoyer, of Shillington.
Gloria was predeceased by her sister Donna M. Brendle, who passed away in 1961.
A memorial service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, PA 19608 on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11:00am. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 9:30am-11:00am. Online condolences may be made to www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
