Glenn W. Fleagle, 88, of Marion Township, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Reading Hospital. He was the beloved companion of Susan Stum. Born in Stouchsburg, he was the son of the late Charles William and Verna A. (Kline) Fleagle. Glenn served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed by AT&T in various locations throughout the northeast including New York and Virginia. He spent a number of years in Scranton, Harrisburg, York and Lancaster, as well as on the ship the C.S. Long Lines laying cables across the ocean. Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing camping and traveling. He was a member of the Tulpehocken United Church of Christ, the Marion Township Rod and Gun Club, the Millcreek Rod and Gun Club, and the Susquehanna Powderhorns. He was a Boy Scout leader for 17 years.
He is survived by his children, Turk W. Fleagle of Red Lion, PA; Carla A. Kinard, wife of Kent of Dallastown, PA; sisters, Helen M. Hoover wife of Herbert of Womelsdorf; June M. Webber wife of the late Harold of Towson, MD ; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was predeceased by his brothers Stewart Fleagle and Gerald Fleagle.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Tulpehocken United Church of Christ, 961 Tulpehocken Road, Richland, PA 17087 on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 am. Reverend Mario Madden will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends, Friday from 10:00am-11:00am, at the church. Bean Funeral Homes, Sinking Spring is in charge of arrangements.
