Glenn Eyer

Formerly of Muhlenberg Township

Glenn E. Eyer, 72, formerly of Muhlenberg Township passed away February 17, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Lester D. and Fern H. (Hess) Eyer.  He graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 1966 and furthered his education in Secondary Education at Millersville University where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees.  After 38 years of teaching, Glenn retired from East Stroudsburg School District in 2010.  Glenn was a member of Masonic Lodge #62 and volunteered at Berks County Heritage Center.  He loved architecture and wood working, having designed and crafted two homes for his family and many pieces of furniture for his children.  He enjoyed fishing and travel, spending time with family, and caring for Blue, his loyal Shar Pei companion.

Glenn is survived by his children; Erika Becker, wife of Paul of Milton, DE, Tara Daub, wife of Joshua of Sea Cliff, NY, Jason Eyer, husband of Sheri of Athens, PA, and Megan McLoughlin, wife of Patrick of Charleston, SC.  Also surviving are his grandchildren, Nicholas, Kayla, Jacob, and Thomas.  He is also survived by his former spouse, Christine Eyer.  Glenn is preceded in death by his sister, Gail E. Eyer.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.  Glenn’s final resting place will be Forest Hills Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the ASPCA at the following link:  https://secure.aspca.org/donate/memorial.  Bean Funeral Homes, Shillington is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
