Gerald L. Martin

Gerald L. “Jerry” “Pop” Martin, 89, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away Thursday July 14, 2022 at 7:20 pm at Reading Hospital.  Born in Reading, Mr. Martin was the son of the late LeRoy J. and Mildred L. (Bechtel) Martin.  He was a 1950 graduate of Reading High School and attended Reading Moravian Church.  Mr. Martin was employed as a manager for the PA State Liquor Stores until his retirement and then was a bus driver for BCIU and a courier for National Penn Bank.  Mr. Martin is survived by his children Stephanie A. Burkart, wife of Robert J. Burkart of Mohnton; Stephan A. Martin, husband of Kelly A. Martin of Lower Alsace Township; Scott A. Martin of Lagrange, Georgia; Patricia M. Bohn, wife of Kevin Bohn of Wernersville and his 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his grandson Matthew A. Burkart and his siblings Laverne M. Arnold and Keith A. Martin.
