Geraldine Anne (Connolly) Goldschmidt
Geraldine was born in Bristol, PA to John Allan and Ida Mae (Gilardi) Connolly on December 27, 1935. She spent her childhood living at 348 Jefferson Ave, Bristol, PA. Her parents set a wonderful example for living a good life for herself, sisters Jacqueline, Bernadette, and brother Joseph. Geraldine attended Saint Mark’s Elementary School and Saint Mark’s Church. Following 8th grade graduation, she attended high school at Nazareth Academy and graduated in 1953. Later that year, Geraldine entered the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Philadelphia where she spent eight years in the convent serving the Lord. She attended college in preparation for continuous teaching during these years. She was dedicated to teaching and to the children she taught throughout her career until she retired in 2009.
In June 1967, she married Lawrence M Goldschmidt (November 10, 1932-April 14, 2020) and remained happily married for 52 years. They raised four children, John Allan, husband of Susan B. (Evans) Goldschmidt, Marianne, wife of Marinus Leidelmeyer, Thomas George, husband of Kelly (Tait) Goldschmidt, and David James. Sadly, David James returned to the Lord in June 1981 at the end of first grade. Geraldine loved her children, her grandchildren, JD, Matty, Brooke, Eric, Julia, Zachary, Emily, Ryan, Patrick, and her great grandchild, Mia. She also adored all the children she met through her teaching and daycare careers. She volunteered at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center gift shop and drove cancer patients to their treatments for 5 years.
Geraldine enjoyed all sports but especially the Phillies. She enjoyed listening to music but never accomplished learning the piano completely.
