Gerald E. Yeager, 83, Denver, passed away December 10, 2021 in his home. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Earl and Fern (Reichart) Yeager. Jerry was a Muhlenberg High School graduate. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Jerry was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Schell) Yeager, they spent 64 years of marriage together. Jerry worked for the State of Pennsylvania in the State Revenue Department. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #227, a member of the Patriotic Order Sons of America, and a former member of the Muhlenberg School Board. Also, the former Muhlenberg Township Commissioner. Jerry loved to travel with Marilyn to New England for the fall foliage. He enjoyed watching football and baseball.
In addition to his wife, Marilyn, Jerry is survived by his son, Jeffrey Yeager, husband of Deb of Muhlenberg Township, his two granddaughters, his three great grandchildren, and his sister, Joan Tait, of South Heidelberg Township. Jerry is preceded in death by his brother, Barry Yeager.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:30 am in Laureldale Cemetery’s Chapel, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605. Pastor Ralph D. Chapin to celebrate. The family will receive friends and relatives from 11:00 am to 11:30 am on Thursday, December 16th at the Chapel in Laureldale Cemetery.
