Gerald A. "Jerry" Balsbaugh, 85, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at 2:53 am in
Berkshire Center. Born in Reading, Mr. Balsbaugh was the son of the late Eugene Milton Balsbaugh and Catherine E. (Turner) Balsbaugh. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Mount Penn and was employed by Vanity Fair Corporation in West Reading in security and maintenance for 49 years retiring in 1997. Jerry enjoyed watching and listening to sports and was an avid Phillies fan. He loved traveling, vacationing and spending time with his family. Mr. Balsbaugh is survived by his sisters Linda Fisher, wife of Marvin Fisher of Shillington, Rosanne Howe, widow of Joseph Howe of Exeter Township, and brother-in-law Joel T. Brigel Sr., husband of his late sister Sara Jane Brigel. He was preceded in death by his sister Shirley Fick, her husband Robert Fick and brother Coleman Balsbaugh. He will also be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:00 am. Reverend Debbie Derby will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Thursday 10:00-11:00 am.
