Georgine Martinez

Georgine Martinez, 74, of Reading, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, Georgine was the daughter of the late George Assemes and Margaret (Planer). Georgine was a graduate of Reading High, Class of 1966 and went on to work for Boscov’s for over 30 years. Georgine will always be remembered for her love of family, and her faith as she served with Freedom Gate, prison ministry for over 20 years alongside her parents.

Georgine is survived by her daughters, Jessica Manspeaker, fiancé of Paul Bleiler of West Reading, JoAnna Martinez, wife of Travis Cravey, of Lancaster, her life partner, whom she shared 29 years with, Scott Fegley, her grandchildren, Samuel, Judah, Caelan, Ellery, Avery, Kio, and Jack. She is also survived by her siblings, Constance Sayer, and Louis Assemes. 

Memorial service for Georgine will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Reading, PA 19606. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, Exeter Township, on Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
