George E. Stavarski, 79, of Shillington, passed away December 6, 2015 in The Mifflin Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was the widower of Dorothy V. (Jordan) Stavarski who passed away June 13, 2008.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Anton and Sophia (Klimcak) Stavarski.
A graduate of Reading Catholic High School and Wyomissing Polytech and was a member of St. John Baptist de LaSalle Roman Catholic Church.
Mr. Stavarski was employed as a machinist at Carpenter Technology for 33 years, and Zeb Machine Company for 14 years, retiring in 2001.
George had a love of classical music and cooking, always trying out a new recipe. He had a gift of working with his hands especially in his garden and discovered late in his years the best place was home.
Survivors include two daughters: Sister Patricia A. Mengel, IHM, Springfield, PA; Carol Ann S. Emes, wife of Dean R., Lincoln Park; two granddaughters Jenna and Amber and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings William Stavarski; Andy Stavarski; Sophie Stavarski; Anne Nagle; Irene Bogdanski; Catherine Kozlowski and Margaret Nelen.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Stavarski's memory to Camilla Hall c/o Mission Advancement, 1140 King Rd, Immaculata, PA 19345-0200 and/or The Mifflin Center, 500 Philadelphia Ave., Shillington, PA 19607.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Baptist de LaSalle Roman Catholic Church, Kerrick & Mitti Roads, Shillington, Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 11:00am. Inurnment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 9:30-10:45am
