George A. Lenich, 87, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away May 5, 2009 at 8:25 am at home surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of the late Amelia A. (Woodworth) Lenich, who passed away January 15, 2002.
Born in Reading November 6, 1921, he was the son of the late George A. Lenich, Sr. and Gertie M. (Tyson) Lenich.
Mr. Lenich was a 1939 graduate of Reading High School and the Wharton School of Business.
He was employed by Nolde & Horst and then was a Supervisor of Payroll for the former Reading Tube, now Reading Industries, retiring in 1983.
He was a lifetime member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Reading where he served as a Lay Reader and also served on the Consistory as an Elder and Deacon.
He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a longtime member of the Goodwill Fire Company and Beneficial Association.
Mr. Lenich is survived by his daughter Cheryl A. (Lenich) Auman of Muhlenberg Township, his grandchildren Jeffrey D. husband of Ann Auman of Kent, WA and Beth M. Auman of Philadelphia along with his great grandchildren Rebecca and Joshua Auman.
