George John Hlodash, Sr., 75, of Spring Township, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center after battling cancer for seven years. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley P. (Werner) Hlodash who together celebrated 52 years of marriage on June 18, 2018. Born in Wilkes-Barre Township, Mr. Hlodash was the son of the late George J. Hlodash and Rosella H. (Scranta) Fedak and was preceded in death by his step-father Andrew M. Fedak. He was a member of Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church and graduated from Wilkes-Barre Business College and attended Scranton University. Mr. Hlodash was office manager of central dispatch department for Sunoco Marketing in Philadelphia retiring January 1, 2001. Upon his retirement he spent time gardening, planting flowers, enjoying nature and most of all, spending time with his family. He also volunteered at LaSalle Academy for the school lunch program. In addition to his wife Shirley, Mr. Hlodash is survived by his children Linda A. Hlodash of Reading and George J. Hlodash, Jr. husband of Laurie L. Hlodash of Mount Wolf, York County and his granddaughters Megan and Allison. Also surviving is his brother Andrew M. "Chuck" Fedak of California and his sister Karen Nelson of Downingtown.
